Fire On Demand has had many requests over the years, to install a fire pit on a wood or composite decks. This is easy to achieve by creating multiple heat barriers. The first barrier is a 1/8" thick steel plate that caps off the bottom of our base assembly. The second barrier is the lining of 2" fire brick, that sits on the 1/8" plate mentioned above. The third barrier is a 2" to 3" air gap between the base assembly, and your deck. This allows fresh air to pass underneath the pit, helping to dissipate any residual heat.
We have put a lot of time and effort into designing an effective solution to a common question.
Below are some different configurations available from Fire On Demand
Cabinet with a 24" Summit Series Log set.
30" Fire pit on a composite deck. The base assembly is lined with fire brick and a plate caps off the bottom, to prevent heat from traveling down to the deck.
The optional pedestal base is a great option for a wood or composite deck.
Notice the base is lined with fire brick, and the stone ties are in place for the rock mason.
